John is a third-generation lawyer who practices within the civil litigation group at Waterous Holden. John’s practice focuses primarily on estate litigation, guardianship applications, and power of attorney disputes. John also practices in the area of commercial litigation and collection work.
John has represented clients at various levels of court in Ontario including the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice, and Small Claims Court.
John Morrissey joined Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP as an associate after being called to the bar in 2016. Prior to his call, John completed his articles at Waterous Holden and also worked as a summer student with the firm in 2014. John obtained a specialization in psychology from King’s University College and graduated from the JD English common law program at the University of Ottawa. While John attended King’s University College, he was a member of Western University’s Men’s varsity soccer team and was a two-time academic all-Canadian. During his second year of law school, John completed an internship at Neighborhood Legal Services in London, Ontario.
During his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to the community. John is proud to serve as a board member on the Brantford Public Library Board and on the Brant Skills Centre Board.
