Estates Law Clerk
Position Description:
We are a full-service law firm of 19 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a full-time law clerk to provide support to our extensive and growing Estate Administration practice group. The applicant will be responsible for handling files pertaining to the administration of estates, including the preparation of applications to the Court for Certificates of Appointment of Estate Trustee, assisting our lawyers in advising Estate Trustees in all aspects of estate administration, preparing documents and accounts, and other requirements of estates. Preference will be given to those applicants with 3 or more years’ experience working in a law office as an Estates Law Clerk and those who have completed the Law Clerk program.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be comfortable meeting one-on-one with clients and following their instructions and the instructions of a lawyer. The candidate must be an effective problem solver who is able to work independently with supervision as necessary. The candidate will also have strong word processing skills, a good attention to detail, organized and exemplary learning capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Corporate Legal Assistant
Position Description:
We are a full-service law firm of 19 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a legal assistant to support an expanding corporate practice. Primary duties will include the opening and maintaining of corporate files, preparation and editing of documents and scheduling meetings. Preference will be given to a candidate that has completed a university undergraduate degree. We are prepared to train the right candidate.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess superior technical and word processing skills, be self-motivated, have good attention to detail, be proactive, diligent, organized and have excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will also have strong computer skills and exemplary learning capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.

Family Law Legal Assistant
Position Description
We are a full-service legal firm of 19 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a qualified Litigation Legal Assistant with work experience in family law. Preference will be given to a candidate that has completed a university undergraduate degree, a diploma or has work experience in family law.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues, have excellent communication skills and take a proactive role in organizing and maintaining comprehensive family law files. They must be able to prepare legal documents (applications, affidavits, separation agreements etc.) from written, oral and dictated instructions and precedents. The successful candidate will also be able to prepare financial statements and net family property statements, draft routine correspondence on behalf of the lawyer, liaise with clients, opposing counsel and court staff.
The candidate will have strong computer skills and exemplary learning capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
