Estates Law Clerk
Position Description:
We are a full-service law firm of 18 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a full-time law clerk to provide support to our extensive and growing Estate Administration practice group. The applicant will be responsible for handling the administration of estates, including the preparation of applications to the Court for certificates for appointment of Estate Trustee, administering the distribution of assets, and other requirements of estates. Preference will be given to those applicants with 3 or more years’ experience working in a law office as an Estates Law Clerk and those who have completed the Law Clerk program.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be comfortable meeting one-on-one with clients and following their instructions and the instructions of a lawyer. The candidate must be an effective problem solver who is able to work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate will also have strong word processing skills, a good attention to detail, organized and exemplary learning capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.

Paralegal
Position Description:
We are a full-service legal firm of 18 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a qualified Licensed Paralegal to join our team. The position will manage a caseload of small claims, employment, human rights and landlord and tenant matters under the supervision of a Senior Litigation Partner. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting one-on-one with clients, preparing and filing various legal documents as it relates to cases, conducting research, along with a variety of administrative tasks required in the process of organizing and maintaining files. Preference will be given to a candidate that has completed a university degree, or related experience. We are prepared to train the right candidate.
Qualifications:
The selected candidate must hold a valid P1 License and be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, have superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and excellent time management skills. The candidate will also have a client-focused attitude with an eagerness to develop expertise in a fast-paced environment to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
