Legal Assistant – Real Estate
Stephanie Hermans, one of the partners at Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP, is looking for a motivated individual to join her real estate team for an in-office position. The position is primarily focusing on residential real estate transactions. Although experience is an asset, Stephanie is willing to train the right candidate. Preference is given to candidates that have a diploma in a Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk program or a combination of education and industry experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and work with frequently changing software programs
- Interest in real estate
- Ability to work under pressure/deadlines

Legal Assistant – Family Law
We are a full-service legal firm of 19 lawyers with a full complement of support staff. Our Firm is seeking a qualified Litigation Legal Assistant with work experience in family law to work for a Senior Family Law Partner. Preference will be given to a candidate that has completed a university undergraduate degree or has significant work experience in Family Law.
Skills/Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues, have excellent communication skills and take a pro-active role in organizing and maintaining comprehensive Family Law files. They must be able to prepare legal documents (applications, affidavits, separation agreements etc.) from written, oral and dictated instructions and precedents. The successful candidate will also be able to prepare financial statements and net family property statements, draft routine correspondence on behalf of the lawyer, liaise with clients, opposing Counsel and Court staff.
The candidate will have strong computer skills and exemplary learning capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
Salary commensurate with experience.
