Paul David Amey – May 25, 1947 -January 17, 2017
Paul’s career included over 40 years of trial and settlement experience in a broad range of civil litigation which includes personal injury claims (motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls), professional negligence claims (including against doctors, lawyers, etc), claims against insurance companies (e.g. LTD), employment issues (including wrongful dismissal for both employees and employers), estates disputes and general commercial disputes (e.g. real estate deals gone bad) and family law.
Additionally, Paul had extensive experience in appeal work and has a reputation for taking on difficult and complex cases. He would regularly receive referrals from lawyers in the GTA, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo and Norfolk County.
Although Paul had a busy and active practice, he was eager to put his experience and knowledge to work for his clients. Paul was the sole law clerk to the Chief Judge of the County and District Judges of Ontario in 1973-1974 and has since practiced with Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP.
